It's time to move on to the next chapter of this amazing journey. We've started a new blog now that the girls have entered this world. Look to the right side of the page and you'll find the link to the new site and be able to go back and forth between sites. We hope the pictures make you smile. Thank you for all of your love and support...we are so grateful!

We're home!
After six days in the hospital, we're over joyed to be home. For now the contractions seem to be under control and Melanie will spend the duration of her pregnancy on bed rest. So, feel free to call or email her anytime...she'd appreciate the distraction and entertainment. Happy holidays!

watch and wonder
Be patient and watch the 3-dimensional image of Baby B's face appear before your eyes.
A small glimpse inside...

29 weeks!!! We had the most amazing ultrasound this week! They decided to try a few 3D images of our babies. As you can see, Baby B was in a better position so we were able to get a clearer view of her. Look at that nose, those cheeks, what adorable lips! Baby B has her mouth open in one picture. :) Melanie, of course, got all teary eyed when she saw those faces. As you look at the pictures you can see a lot of "stuff" around the faces; the curly thing is the umbilical cord. The only image of Baby A is a little hard for some to see. It is just her eyes, nose, cheeks, and possibly part of her upper lip. Baby A weighs approximately 3lbs 1 oz and Baby B is at 2lbs 13oz. They are about 15 inches long. We were able to see their eyes in detail: the iris and pupil. We watched them blink and move their eyes as well. We are so in love with these girls already.

New Video!
We recently discovered how to add video to this blog. Here's a clip from the 12-week ultrasound. At this point, we were 80% sure Baby B was a boy...since then we have confirmed, and reconfirmed that she's a little girl. The video contains audio starting at 14 seconds so remember to turn up the volume on your PC. More video to follow...

Amazing!

It's a GIRL and a BOY...there's at least an 80% chance anyway. How exciting! Baby B is a boy (you can see his 'manhood' quite clearly in the third picture) and Baby A is a girl (look for the letter in the bottom left corner). They are measuring about 6.5 cm, with the girl a little ahead. They both moved the entire ultrasound, he was punching her and she was kicking him! Hilarious! The sibling rivalry has begun already! Dr. Rowe says she's a "Drama Queen" and he's a "Muscle Man." :) The heartbeats sounded strong, between 155-160 bpm. All major organs are developed at this point and they seem to be passing all their "tests and measurements" with flying colors. They must be overachievers like their dad.

Eight week ultrasound: We heard heartbeats! 173 and 175 bpm. It was so amazing! On Baby A you can see all four limbs. Baby B stayed on it's head most of the time. We did get a glimpse of it's brain and the prominent circle you see is it's yolk sac, which will soon disappear. At this stage, they are measuring about 2 cm and very similar. Melanie "graduated" from her amazing doctor, Dr. Valdes. There were a lot of hugs and smiles. Believe it or not, I think she might miss her weekly visits with the office.
